November 2008

The month of November was a busy time for our boat cleaning crews who cleaned vessel tanks in record time in order to obtain  fast turnarounds for the support vessels servicing the Southern North Sea Oil & Gas Platforms.

You may have seen us out in force at Potter Heigham November; we completed a 24hr emergency project on a burst rising main.Tankers were used to relieve the burst main and our state of the art lining teams managed to reline the main under a concrete pad without having to dig it up.

We have arranged our refresher training on High Pressure Water Jetting for early December for all staff including managers!
It's always interesting to see the final examination results when the crews are taking the same test as the managers. It is expected that managers should be the best at everything... we shall see! We shall report the results in our December news.

The festive season is approaching and as always, HFS have made provision for emergency teams should they be required throughout the holiday season to deal with any emergency you might have. So while you are tucking into your turkey and sprouts it is likely that one of our teams will be out there somewhere cleaning up, pumping out or alleviating a flood situation.
While on the subject of Christmas, HFS have decided that they will donate money to charity instead of sending cards to clients and friends. Our charity donation will be given to to "Pump Aid" - a worthwhile charity helping people in Africa to build sanitation systems and install fresh water pumps for drinking water in their small villages. We deal in alleviating sewage problems and helping to maintain the fresh water pipe systems in East Anglia so it only seemed fitting to try and help in some small way to those who don't have access to large green tankers to provide water or sanitation services.
Pump Aid is the charity of choice for The Times this year and further information on this worthwhile charity can be found on it's website.

We wish all our customers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
